Conditions of Enrolment

Part A : ABILITY TO MEET LIVING COSTS

Apart from fee payment requirements students should note that the Australian government (through Mirgration Regulations) requires students to demonstrate the ability to meet living costs for the period of their stay. In Queensland this is estimated at A$1500 per month in addition to student fees.


Part B : ACCOMMODATION / AIRPORT TRANSFERS

In case you require Cambridge Academy to arrange your accommodation (Homestay only), you must pay Cambridge Academy the first four weeks in advance. Subsequent payments should be made directly to your home-stay family. At present homestay costs A$200-210 per week and there is a A$100 placement fee.

If you would like the airport transfer service, you must advise Cambridge Academy of your arrival date, time and flight number at least 14 days before you arrive in Australia. Payable fee of A$100 each way applies.


Part C : CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Please read the following conditions carefully and if they are not clear ask the Cambridge Academy counsellor or your local agent to clarify them for you.

  1. All refunds are made and covered by the provisions of the ESOS Act 2000 and the ESOS regulations 2001.

2. Enrolment, accommodation placement and airport transfer fees are not refundable.

3. Tuition fees are refundable in full if a visa application is rejected and official advice is made to Cambridge Academy.

4. If you cancel your enrolment 28 days or more before your course start date then 85% of your tuition fees will be refunded.

5. If you cancel your enrolment less than 28 days before your course start date then 50% of your tuition fees will be refunded.

6. If you cancel your enrolment on or after your course start date then your tuition fees will not be refunded.

7. Any dispute resolution processes do not circumscribe the student's rights to pursue other legal remedies.

8. This agreement does not remove the right to take further action under Australia's Consumer Protection laws. (National Code Sections 43-44 & ESOS Act 2000 Sections 27-32)

9. If a course is not delivered by CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY after enrolment, students will be transferred to another provider under the ACPET TAS Scheme.


Part D : REFUND PROCEDURE

Please read the following conditions carefully and if they are not clear ask a Cambridge Academy counsellor or your local agent to clarify them for you.

  1. All requests for cancellation of courses or refund of fees must be made in writing to Cambridge Academy.

2. Refunds will be made only after you have returned the enrolment documentation and completed indemnity and release forms.

3. Refunds as per above will be paid within 28 days of receipt of a written request of the student and/or his/her designated agent.

4. Home-stay fees will be refunded where notice of cancellation is given at least two weeks in advance; otherwise, two weeks home-stay fees are applicable.

5. All refunds will be paid in Australian dollars.


Part E : 2010 OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER (OSHC)

It is an Australian government requirement that if you wish to enter Australia on a student visa you must take out Overseas Student Health Cover, even if you have your own private medical insurance. The premium should be paid to Cambridge Academy before the course start date.

Please note that the Australian Government requires a student and his/her dependent(s) be covered by OSHC for the whole period of their stay in Australia on a student visa.


Part F : GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE

Students should consult the schools grievance procedures in the student handbook.


PLEASE NOTE :

Any information provided by the student to Cambridge Academy may be made available to Commonwealth and State agencies and the fund Manager of the ESOS Assurance Fund, pursuant to obligations under the ESOS Act 2000 and the National Code; and Cambridge Academy is required, under s19 of the ESOS Act 2000, to tell the department about
          a) certain changes to student's enrolment
          b) any breach by the student of a visa condition relating to attendance or satisfactory academic performance.
