Courses
At Cambridge we offer Government accredited courses and an array of English courses and academic pathways to meet a range of abilities and goals. The main Cambridge focus is preparing students for life long tertiary study. After completion of each AQTF registered course an Australian Quality Training Framework Compliant certificate is issued which shows the level of competence achieved and the attendance level. Students who do not complete these certificates will be issued with a recognised statement of attainment. The courses currently offered are:A: Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):
Certificates I-IV in Spoken and Written English (CSWE) provide a framework for learners to develop English language and literacy skills and numeracy skills to undertake further education and training, seek and maintain employment, and participate in the community.
This curriculum framework consists of 4 courses:

NB: There is a minimum academic requirement of Grade 12, High School (or equivalent) education for entry into Certificate IV.
The Certificates are relevant to a variety of learning contexts and are currently used widely through Australia in the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), the Adult Community Education (ACE) sector, TAFE colleges, university language programs, Indigenous education, corrective services programs, private language colleges and Intensive English Centres (IECs) in NSW state schools.

Entry Requirements
Certificate I in Spoken and Written English
Initial assessment across the four macro skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing against the International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) or IELTS determines the entry point to a particular Certificate level. The proficiency level for entry into Certificate I in Spoken and Written English is ISLPR 0 or IELTS 1.0 or equivalent across all macro skills.
Certificate II in Spoken and Written English

The proficiency level for entry into Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English is ISLPR 2+ or IELTS 5.0 or equivalent across all macro skills.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
At any of the Certificate levels, students are granted recognition of prior learning, where they are able to demonstrate that they can fulfill the assessment criteria for a particular learning outcome or module. Work experience is not recognized or required.
Our assessors are required to comply with the 2007 AQTF Standard I Element 1.5 RPL requirements.
B: Non AQTF programs:
Further to the above, Cambridge Academy also offers General English and IELTS Preparation, which are non-AQTF courses and do not lead to a recognized certificate.
Delivery of Courses :
All courses are delivered through continuous contact or supervision with trainers.
Assessment:
Assessment is usually conducted at the end of a teaching/ learning cycle, typically at the end of a unit of work. However, achievement of a module or learning outcome prior to the completion of a unit of work and/or module can be granted if a learner provides appropriate evidence.
